New Delhi, (IANS) The Delhi government Tuesday slashed entertainment tax on cinema by 10 percent.
Finance and Planning Minister A.K. Walia Tuesday announced that the entertainment tax had been slashed from 30 to 20 percent in the capital.
The decision was taken after examining representations from the National Association of Motion Picture Exhibitors and the Multiplex Association of India at a meeting presided by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
With this move, Delhi becomes the first to reduce entertainment tax by 40 percent in five years, Walia was quoted as saying in a statement released by the Directorate Of Information & Publicity. (more…)
New Delhi, (IANS) After hosting Amitabh Bachchan’s blog site, a social networking website has now introduced Micro blogging exclusively for its celebrated user. New technology enables the Bollywood icon to write brief text updates and publish them from anywhere anytime from his phone.
“Mobile blogging is available only to Amitabh Bachchan now. But we will soon make it available to other users so that everyone can be connected through faster and more convenient means,” said Siddharth Roy, the chief operating officer of the website BigAdda.com.
Roy told IANS over phone from Mumbai that this new platform, a quicker and more convenient way of blogging, will help the superstar stay connected with his fans round the clock despite his hectic schedule. (more…)

Nothing but only the format attracted me. I never decide things, it just happened. I thought the format was interesting, easy and would appeal to many.

Yes, it is easy for the contestants. Dus Ka Dum has an easy format and for this the contestants need not be extraordinarily educated or intelligent. This game show does not embarrass the contestants if they fail.
So you are comfortable hosting this show?

Nagesh Kukunoor’s much-anticipated Aashayein, which stars John Abraham, will see a June 20th release.
The film has a message but Kukunoor’s doesn’t want to give away the plot:”Especially with this film it was very critical apart from the cinematic experience, that when you leave you leave with those three words — live life now,” says Kukunoor.
The film also stars newcomer Sonal Sehgal who plays John’s love interest.
Sonal says, “Its not a preachy film, it just reminds us about something which we so forget. As we are caught up with so much in our day to day business that we forget to enjoy little moments in life.”

Out of ideas but with very deep pockets, Mukesh Ambani has hired Hrithik Roshan to promote his IPL team - Mumbai Indians, for no other logical reason, we believe, than the fact that Shah Rukh Khan is promoting his own team - Kolkata Knight Riders.
Hrithik will feature in a promotional music video for Mumbai Indians, and is currently shooting for it at ND Studios in Karjat, reports the Mumbai Mirror.
